Ok. After one of Kay Warren's Sermon points today I was encouraged to start a book. This is not my first started book... and will not be the last of my "started books". But since this idea may fade... I thought I would go ahead and share some of my thoughts here. It is not neat or pretty yet, just what God has put on my heart. Enjoy.

Possible Title:
The Elephant’s Ready… Let’s get eating!
Tagline: If you want a book that will change the world- get the Bible. If you want one that is going to challenge your approach, get you thinking about, and start you down the road to solutions to the world largest problems… this might help a little.

Why is that when we look around we see so many elephants. Problems that seem too big to handle. Ones that we have no hope of changing, because after all, we are just one person. What do we do… how can we even start? Well… as that saying goes, how do you eat an elephant… One bite at a time. So why are we afraid to even take that first taste. What stops us before we even start?

Looking at global problems like widows, orphans, poverty, genocide, hunger, racial & tribal wars… it is easy to get overwhelmed by the size of them. The stats are so high and they seem so distant, that it is easier to ignore it than to do anything about them. But deep down… you know you would do something if you could… before moving back into your bubble.

Maybe a key is instead of just starting in on the feast… understanding where it came from. The root of all evil is sin. Ok… that was easy, but way too easy. Let’s look at some examples.

Story of Esther. The ending of this story could have been massively different. There could have been a holocaust thousands of years earlier than World War 2. Haman’s plan was a very dialed in and direct. It called for the annihilation of an entire people group on one day from Egypt to Africa. (Sounds like the Rwandian genicide, but better planned).

Ok... that is far as I have coherent. Who knows... you may see more in future.
